What to bring to your appointment

Please arrive prepared for your appointment by having all your information in paper format. Due to time restrictions, you will not be able to access your information electronically during the appointment. 

FAFSA appointments - Please bring the following

Parent MUST be in attendance. Student is not required to attend.

  • CREATE FSA ID’s for BOTH parent and student at fsaid.ed.gov prior to appointment.
  • Entire 2015 federal tax return, for parents and student
  • 2015 W2’s ( or last pay stub from 2015)
  • Please be sure you know parent’s date of marriage and if divorced, date of divorce (month & year only)
  • Resident card number (if applicable)
  • Please know how much is in your checking and savings (parent and student)
  • Annual amounts of untaxed income received in the household (SSDI, child support)
  • Total value of all investments (stocks bonds, 529 plans, mutual funds, CD’s, NOT retirement)
  • If you own a business, please know the total value of the business (buildings and equipment) and how much you owe on the business
  • A list of the schools the student is applying to

Some of the private schools require another financial aid form called the CSS Profile.  You can click here to see if your school requires it.  If so, make sure to check their deadline and make an appointment with us before that date. 

CSS PROFILE appointments - Please bring the following

  • Student’s username and password for Collegeboard.org
  • Entire 2015 Federal Tax return, for parents and student
  • An estimate for 2016 and 2017 taxes
  • 2015 W2’s (or last pay stub from 2015)
  • Please know how much is in your checking and savings accounts (parent and student)
  • Annual amounts of untaxed income received in the household (SSDI, child support)
  • Tuition paid for student and siblings attending private elementary or high school
  • Medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance (incl: how much paid to FSA)
  • Value of your home, how much you paid, owe, the year of purchase, monthly mortgage payment (all the same information if you have any investment property)
  • Value of retirement funds
  • Total value of all investments (stocks bonds, 529 plans, mutual funds, CD’s, NOT retirement)
  • If you own a business, please know the total value of the business (buildings and equipment) how much you owe on the business, # of employees and total gross receipts and expenses 
  • A list of the schools the student is applying to

College Board charges a fee for filing the CSS Profile. 

There is a $9.00 application fee and $16.00 PER SCHOOL fee.
