1. Choose your loan option.

Explore our rates and fees and complete the online application for the option that best suits your needs. You will receive an instant credit decision. During the application process, you can choose if you would like to e-sign your application by agreeing to the electronic consent agreement.

2. Collect documents.

If your application is pre-approved, you will receive instructions on how to send us your supporting application documents. Make sure to include copies of all required verification documents.

3. E-sign or mail your application. 

Once your application and supporting documents are reviewed by our loan origination team and your application is approved, you will be sent an email with a link to e-sign your application. If you have chosen to submit a paper application, please mail to us an original signed copy of your application with all supporting documents to RISLA, PO Box 81071, Warwick, RI 02888-0089 as soon as possible but no more than 45 days after applying.

4. Accept your loan.

Once your loan has been approved, you will receive a disclosure with instructions on how to accept your loan. You may do this online. The federal government requires you to accept your loan and your loan application cannot move forward until this step is completed.

5. Certify your loan.

After we receive your loan acceptance, you will also need to complete a self-certification. The federal government requires that we obtain this from you before we send the funds to your school.

6. Funds will be sent to the school.

Meanwhile, we will contact your school asking them to certify your loan. The school will provide us with a date on which they would like us to send them the funds.
